How to Fix Mismatched Furniture | Unifying Your Look With Pillows

My home is a never-ending flurry of projects in progress. I am sure you can relate.  So when our 3-year porch project began to look like a porch, I was ready to start using the space.  The major problem was the patio furniture I splurged on when we started the project  - a peach and cream upholstered beige wicker set - did not provide enough seating. Even worse, this patio set was no longer in production so we could not get matching pieces to fill our space.

We ended up adding a high top brown wicker table with turquoise and dark brown cushions. It filled the space nicely and the cushions were the same base fabric as our original set, but the color scheme was not quite complimentary.

I had this solved though.  My solution - use pillows to tie the color schemes together. But there was a sticking point - I'm good at making pillows, I am bad at choosing fabrics.

This is where my luck kicks in - as a thank you for sharing my pillow techniques earlier this year - my friend  Anne, of DeCocco Drapes fame gifted me with a gorgeous set of fabric samples. Better than that, the color scheme of her samples married my turquoise and peach color scheme beautifully.

Do you think they did their job in making my porch furniture appear to be a planned set of contrasts versus the mismatched hodge podge it started out as?
